"Synthetic Textures started off as a compilation of temporal experiments and some film work I did - then I started adding in newly made tracks, so it's kind of its own beast now!
There’s still an emphasis on pitch and speed experiments. The melody to Spirit Cube is made of re-pitched samples from me improvising. Phase Difference and Lunar Eclipse likewise have lots of slowed down recordings to make them sound weird.
But I guess the main theme of Synthetic Textures now is that I wanted to get rid of drums from my music. It's the part I always slave over and I'm never that happy with.
So even though the tracks are nearly all very rhythmic, there are no drums on any of the songs." - Gradient Echo
